Ingredients
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine (firm)
- 2 1/2 cups Original Bisquickâ„¢ mix
- 2/3 cup milk
- Butter or margarine, melted (for brushing)
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 230°C (450°F).
- Cut the butter into small 0.6 cm (1/4 inch) pieces.
- In a bowl, mix the Bisquickâ„¢ mix and butter pieces using a fork until the butter is well-coated with the mixture.
- Add milk and stir just until it’s absorbed, but be careful not to overmix the dough.
- Sprinkle some Bisquickâ„¢ mix on a flat surface and turn out the dough. Knead it gently five times.
- Flatten the dough to a 1.25 cm (1/2 inch) thickness.
- Use a 7.5 cm (3 inch) cookie cutter to cut out biscuits. Place them on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- For softer edges, let the biscuits touch. For crispier edges, space them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for about 9 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
- Brush the tops with melted butter immediately after baking.
Tips for Perfect Biscuits
- For softer biscuits, knead the dough only five times to make it smooth but not sticky.
- If you prefer not to knead the dough, reduce the Bisquickâ„¢ mix to 2 1/4 cups and skip the kneading step. Drop heaping spoonfuls of dough onto a cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes for an easy drop biscuit.
These buttery biscuits are so delicious, sharing might be difficult—unless, of course, sharing is caring!
